MXR is a New-York based producer of effects pedals that was co-founded by Keith Barr and Terry Sherwood in 1972, and had later been established as MXR Innovations Inc. in 1974. MXR had been acquired by Jim Dunlop in 1987 and it still continues on producing the traditional line of pedals that were of MXR which has defined the brand. Jim Dunlop has manufactured new models of the effects pedals along with the original lineup, like the Carbon Copy and Fullbore Metal. It continues producing original MXR Pedals like the Eddie Van Halen Phase 90 and Flanger, and Zakk Wylde's Wylde Overdrive and Black Label Chorus.
