Nanoleaf is a lighting company that specializes in LEDs. The limited company was founded in 2012 by three engineers, and its first two products were funded through Kickstarter campaigns. Nanoleaf makes use of unique technologies in order to achieve energy efficiency and a sustainable production process.

The Nanoleaf Light Panels and Canvas of the Smarter Series are manufactured with LED chips on a printed circuit board and have a diffuser on a flat surface. It's a set of modular LED lights with smart features including an app and voice control. Each Light Panel is linked together by linkers (chips that look like SD cards) and receives electricity from the Controller (via power outlet).

Small LEDs on a folded circuit board are used in the company's lightbulbs, which have an origami-like form. The method eliminates the need for a heat sink, allowing the bulb to remain cool to the touch while saving energy throughout production. Overheat protection is also built into Nanoleaf bulbs, allowing them to dim themselves if they're too hot, decreasing the risk of damage and extending their lifespan.
